Angel Reese’s sharp critique of her team has cost her some playing time, as the Chicago Sky announces her suspension.
Reese will be benched during the first half of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces. The Sky made the call after slamming her recent comments as “statements detrimental to the team.”
The team said in a statement, “We are committed to accountability so our players can stay focused on playing basketball. This matter has been handled and resolved internally.”

Head coach Tyler Marsh called it an “organizational decision.” Reese already missed Friday’s game due to a one-game suspension for racking up her eighth technical foul of the season, the latest on-court mishap.
The newest suspension stems from an interview with the Chicago Tribune, where Reese didn’t hold back on her frustration over the team’s direction, hinting that she could leave the Sky if things didn’t change quickly.
“I’m not settling for the same stuff we did this year,” she said. “We have to get great players or else I might consider moving on.”
She also questioned the reliability of a returning Courtney Vandersloot, saying, “We can’t rely on Courtney to come back at the age that she’s at.”
Reese later apologized to her teammates, but the message was already loud and clear.
