Letitia James Says Trump’s “Political Payback” Won’t Stop Her After Indictment [Video]

New York Attorney General Letitia James isn’t backing down after news broke that she’s been indicted on federal charges connected to her investigation into the Trump Organization.

In a video shared on social media, James called the charges “baseless” and accused Trump of weaponizing the justice system for his own political revenge. “He’s forcing federal law enforcement agencies to do his bidding, all because I did my job,” she said.

James’ comments come after reports that Trump allegedly fired a U.S. attorney who refused to bring charges against her, replacing them with someone loyal to him. She called the move “a blatant perversion of our system of justice” and urged leaders from both parties to condemn it.

Standing firm, James reminded viewers of her office’s successful civil fraud case against Trump and his sons, which resulted in a court ruling holding them liable for fraud. “We conducted a two-year investigation based on facts and evidence, not politics,” she said, reaffirming her commitment to upholding the law.

Leaning on her faith, James closed with a message of strength and resilience: “I’m not fearful. I’m fearless. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.”

The Attorney General vowed to fight the charges “aggressively” and continue her work protecting New Yorkers’ rights.
