When asked if he believed Jackson would win a ring, Newton replied, “I hope so.” He praised Jackson’s dynamic play, saying, “He’s a very exciting person to watch and the style that he plays, which is entertaining to say the least.”
Still, Newton didn’t ignore Baltimore’s current slump.
“When I think about the Baltimore Ravens, they’re probably the biggest surprise for the wrong reasons,” he admitted. “Being 1-5 going into the bye week is something that’s necessary and needed. But, I still think they can bounce back from it, given the skill of Lamar Jackson.”
Newton added that the Ravens now face an uphill climb: “They’ll need help from other teams. They’ll need other teams to lose. They’ll need other teams to win.”
Despite the setbacks, Newton expressed faith in Jackson’s resilience, noting that his skill set “makes any team hopeful.”
As Baltimore’s playoff hopes hang by a thread, fans are watching closely to see if Jackson can turn the season around—and eventually prove Newton’s optimism right.
