Chadwick Boseman, who passed away on August 28, 2020, will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ceremony is set for November 20, with his widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, accepting the tribute. For those who cannot attend in person, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will stream the event live on WalkOfFame.com, hosted by Chamber president Steve Nissen.
The event will feature remarks from Viola Davis and “Black Panther“ director, Ryan Coogler. The star will be placed at 6904 Hollywood Boulevard, celebrating Boseman’s extraordinary impact on film, television, and culture.
Boseman built a career on unforgettable, transformative performances. He gained widespread recognition as Jackie Robinson in “42,” portrayed James Brown in “Get On Up,” and brought Thurgood Marshall to life in “Marshall.” He became a global icon as T’Challa in “Captain America: Civil War” and “Black Panther,” earning an NAACP Image Award and a shared Screen Actors Guild Award for the role.
He also produced and starred in projects like “21 Bridges” through his company Xception Content, appeared in Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods,” and delivered his final acclaimed performance as Levee in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” which earned him industry-wide recognition.
Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman’s extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
