Days before Kandi Burruss officially confirmed her split from Todd Tucker, the two were battling a serious legal mess that could hit their pockets hard.

On November 3, the Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group, the duo’s business behind Blaze Steak & Seafood, rushed to court, demanding an emergency hearing over a messy lease battle with their landlord, Montego Pacific.

The landlord says the couple’s company owes over $154,000 in back rent and another $56,000 for repairs. But Kandi and Todd’s team pushed back, accusing Montego of taking matters into their own hands by removing Blaze’s signage, clearing out equipment, and leasing the space to someone else, all without permission.

“The [landlord] has taken the law into their own hands and unjustifiably initiated a dispossessory of [Burruss Tucker] from the leased premises,” the company said in court docs, obtained exclusively by Us Weekly.

Even more shocking, the company claims Blaze has been shut down since July 2024 due to what they call “malicious” behavior.

Montego didn’t back down. They argued that the lease was already terminated and asked the judge to toss out the emergency request.

Kandi, who addressed the drama earlier, said, “It really was a disagreement about some repairs that they made and then who would be responsible for it.” She added that they were working toward a resolution.

Then came the bombshell, on November 21, Kandi confirmed she and Todd were divorcing after 11 years. It’s unknown if their business drama played any role in their split.
