Did you catch this week’s episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta? There were a lot of things being covered in this episode, mainly Kirk’s extramarital affair with two women after Rasheeda told him to “do him.” Kirk’s defense for cheating on his pregnant wife was that Rasheeda gave him a free pass, while Rasheeda maintained that when she said “Do You” she meant for him to get his life together. Attention men, even if a woman said it’s okay for you to cheat, it’s never okay.
Men are very simple creatures and they use their simplicity as an excuse. The fact is, they know what you mean and would rather take the term “Do You” in a literal sense. So here we go guys, this is what we mean when we say do you.
Men, women are impulsive when we are angry. Much like the other half of the human race, we say things we don’t always mean. When a woman is angry and tells you to “Do You”, she is not giving you a pass to cheat. In fact, even if she says she’s giving you a pass, she isn’t. In actuality, she is giving you a pass to make the right decision. When a woman says “do you” she is expecting you to be on your best behavior, realize where you went wrong and come back to her with a clearer mind and better decisions. She is anticipating that you will have a change of heart and realize that all of the running around you were doing wasn’t worth the one good woman in your life. If you take “do you” as an excuse to sleep with other women, you don’t really love her and there really isn’t much more to be said from there.
Any man who uses the term “do you” as an excuse to sleep around was just looking for a reason to be a man whore anyway. I can’t think of many instances where a grown man would ever think cheating on his married wife, or anyone he’s in a committed relationship with, is a good idea.
