32 year old Rodrigo Alves has spent the last 10 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars reconstructing himself into a real life Ken doll. He’s been under the knife 42 times since 2004, unfortunately things didn’t go well for him the last time.Â
Alves, who lives in London and works as a flight attendant, was rushed to a hospital in Spain to be treated for a potentially life-threatening condition after his body rejected his new nose. Alves developed necrosis, the death of flesh/tissue, following his nose job from three months ago. He began documenting the condition when he noticed a hole began to appear in his nose and that his new septum appeared to come loose. The hole slowly began to grow, to the point Alves had trouble breathing.Â
Alves remains in the hospital in Spain where he is receiving antibiotics through an IV drip. Doctors say that there is a possibility that the infection may eat through his nose, and into his face. They are considering removal to avoid gangrene.Â
This wouldn’t be the first time Rodrigo Alves has had complications stemming from cosmetic surgery.Â
Three years ago, Alves suffered complications after undergoing a procedure to enhance his biceps, triceps and shoulders using silicone. The silicone leaked into his system and within days his arms swelled to the point where he couldn’t feed nor bathe himself. Alves was rushed to the hospital to have liters of fluid drained from his body. Doctors say he was very close to death.
