Man Sentenced To Jail After Posing As Police Officer To Get Unprotected Sex From Prostitutes

One Ft. Lauderdale man will stop at nothing to get pum pum from prostitutes.  Mark William Rose, 23, admitted that over a dozen times, in the course of few months, he would impersonate a police officer to get unprotected sex from prostitutes. He says that if they declined, he would threaten to arrest them. According to Rose, three of the women conceded to sex, six women made it as far as the front steps of the police station.

Mark Rose was arrested in August 2015 and released on $10,000 bail.

Apparently Rose took his charade seriously. On the night of his initial arrest, he drove his victim to the Broward Sheriff’s Office headquarters and pretended to have a phone conversation which led the victim to believe that she would soon be arrested. Unfortunately for Rose, she was still skeptical that he was really a cop and began dialing 911 on her cell phone. Rose, who had no prior criminal record, then drove off.

On Monday, Rose pleaded no contest to falsely impersonating an officer and false imprisonment, two felonies that carried a combined maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. He wasn’t formally convicted of the felonies, however, and in a plea deal, received a nine month sentence.

“He knew he was going to jail today, he knew he was going in,” Rose’s defense lawyer, Michael D. Weinstein, said Monday. “Mark has been as remorseful as any human being I’ve seen in 18 years of practice … he acknowledged his mistake and accepted the plea.”
