Ladies, Don’t Fall For The Okie Doke This All Star Weekend

All Star Weekend will be taking place in Houston, TX next week and with the amount of parties, celebrities and athletes, it’s bound to be a great time! What is a girl to do if she is looking to snag a Baller that weekend? Well, the most I can suggest is to not fall for the okie doke. There will be a lot of fake Ballers hanging in the Houston streets ready to take advantage of some poor girl who didn’t do her research. Below are some warning signs and hints to keep you out of trouble.

1) Don’t Fall For The D-League/Overseas “Baller” – Many men who are 6’3″, clean cut and chiseled will be using their looks to deceive you. He may look like a Baller, but he’s not. If he tells you he plays overseas or for a D-League team, it’s easier to ignore him rather than try and look it up. If you’re going to sleep with a man simply because of his looks, let that be the reason, but don’t believe he plays ball because that’s what he tells you. He’s a liar. Keep in mind this also goes for those guys who say they are rappers or own record labels.

2) Google – Google is your friend. If a man gives you his name and team, look it up. As a matter of fact, if a man automatically drops his first name, last name and team, he’s probably a bench warmer anyway. Either way, do your research. Always know who your dealing with. Not only to know if he is truly who he says he is, but to see if Baller Alert has posted a Baller Mail about him or if he’s made our Bad Baller List. You can avoid a lot of drama by just listening to what the last woman said.

3) Flashy Jewelry – Don’t be fooled by flashy jewelry and over the top clothing. Any man who feels the need to be extra flashy and over the top is probably trying to compensate for something, and that something is probably the fact that he is not a real Baller. A Baller doesn’t have to be “extra” in his approach. If he’s over doing it, save yourself the trouble and walk the other way. This also includes guys over doing it in VIP at the club. He probably spent his entire tax refund check on that.

4) Don’t Be Blinded By The Whip – Just because he’s riding around in a fancy car doesn’t mean he’s a Baller either. In fact, during events like All Star Weekend, rental car companies are booming with business. It takes nothing to be able to get an upgrade to a nice BMW when you’re used to driving a Honda. Don’t fall for the wheels ladies!
