If you watched Love & Hip Hop NY last night this blog will make some sense to you. Last night Yandy and Mandeecees had a discussion about a recent blow up they had. Yandy says that while Mandeecees was asleep she picked up his iPad to discover that he had been on Instagram straight flexing. In other words, he was liking a bunch of pics of big booty girls so Yandy threw his iPad at his head. Some of you would say, “What’s the big deal?” but is this appropriate behavior for a man in a relationship?
Let’s keep it 100% real. Social media and online relationships have sky rocketed. It’s far too easy for a man to take his admiration for a woman from his computer screen to his bedroom these days. We’ve written blogs on how to score a man on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram already so it’s definitely possible. Could it be possible that it is all innocent, however? Could it be possible that Yandy overreacted? What is the proper online etiquette for a committed man.
I can only speak for myself but I do believe that it is a fine line that shouldn’t be crossed regarding men in relationships online. I’ve always said that if you can’t respect your relationship, no one else will, and I still believe this to be true. With that said I believe that if you’re not doing anything in the dark there won’t be anything that needs to come to light. As long as he’s keeping things on his public timeline I’m not bothered. This means that “Liking” pics is okay with me. I don’t find it disrespectful. If you like big butts, that’s fine by me. I can’t keep a man from liking big butts and pretty women. If you download InstaDM to converse with her, or you’re flirting and being blatantly disrespectful to our relationship in the comments section of her photos, you’re doing too much and I may throw an iPad at you too.
So where do you draw the line on Instagram affection? Is there no line at all? All far in “Likes” and War?
