Two sisters in California have become the youngest African-American women to open their own beauty supply store.
Last month, Keonna Davis, 21, and Kayla Davis, 19, opened KD Haircare Supply, which caters to clients with natural hair and weaves, in the Sundance Plaza in Moreno Valley.
When I spoke to Kayla at the store, she told me that their mother was the one inspired them to start their own business.
She explained that she and Keonna had difficulty finding a job because they lacked experience. When the sisters shared their frustrations with their mom, she suggested that they should work for themselves, and Kayla and Keonna took her advice.
In March 2015, KD Haircare Supply started out as just a website and grew into a storefront from there. The young entrepreneurs say they hope to eventually open other store locations. #blackgirlsrock
