It’s been reported that Colin Kaepernick wants off the Niners, possibly to the Jets. Well it appears now that the Broncos have taken an interest in the NFL QB.
According to ESPN, San Francisco and Denver are close to reaching a deal that will send Kaep to the Broncos, there’s only one $4.9 million hold up. Kaepernick’s $11.9 million base salary for the 2016 season became guaranteed this month. It’s now time to determine who pays that salary. Does he receive it as a 49er, or with a different team. The problem is, the Broncos are only willing to pay $7 million of that. A source tells ESPN that Kaep and the Broncos want the 49ers to pay the remaining balance. Unfortunately, the Niners aren’t with it. Kaep has the option of forfeiting the $4.9 million but he’s not with that either.
As of now, we must wait and find out who plans to cough up the remaining coins for Kaepernick. If he stays with the 49ers, at least he knows he’ll get his entire pay, but does he want to stay?
