Baller Alert correspondent @onetakestace sat down with the cast of “Major Deal,” King Keraun and Simone Shepherd, along with the All Def Digital boss man, Russell Simmons.
“Major Deal” is a comedy about an aspiring rapper named Mike Massacre who, unfortunately, isn’t really good at rapping. His friends and family want him to give up on his dreams, and to be honest, the rest of the world does too. He gives himself an ultimatum. If he does not sign a major record deal by his 30th birthday, he’ll get a regular job. The film focuses on his quest to get that “Major Deal.”
In our interview, the crew discusses the new film (which is available for streaming worldwide on 8/26), Russell’s involvement in the process of making the movie, working with comedy greats and more.
During the interview, King Keraun also discusses his time in prison and how it shaped who he is today. He also takes some time to offer up some helpful advice to those who aspire to become comedians themselves.
“Major Deal” is the first movie from Russell Simmons’ All Def Digital imprint. It’s available on VHX August 26th and iTunes September 15th. It’s currently available for pre-order.
