Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker was involved in a motorcycle accident near Miami on Thursday night that left him seriously injured. The accident occurred at the intersection of Northwest 21st Avenue and Northwest 75th Street at around 8 pm. The 23-year-old was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he is currently getting treated for his injuries.

Police say Walker was riding his Honda dirt bike on Northwest 75th Street when he crashed into a Ford Escape that was going south on Northwest 21st Street. The woman in the car was uninjured. “Detectives are trying to determine exactly what happened, if the Ford Escape took the stop sign or if she just didn’t see Walker,” a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Department said.

Walker, who is originally from Miami, was drafted by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played in 8 games during his rookie season, but mostly on special teams. Though he didn’t see much playing time in his first year, he said he was determined to get better in the offseason and earn himself more time on the field.

“This is devastating news,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said in a statement. “Our prayers and hopes are with Tray and his family tonight.” Walker’s fellow teammates also showed their support for him through messages on social media.
