In just 24 hours, Peyton Manning is expected to make his NFL retirement announcement — so says the Denver Post. On the heals of his Super Bowl 50 victory, it was speculated that Manning would want to end his career on a high note.Â
The 39 year old two-time Super Bowl champion played 18 seasons in the NFL, 12 of which were with the Indianapolis Colts. He signed with the Denver Broncos in 2012.Â
Last week, there was already speculation that Manning was going to retire. According to rumors, the five time MVP had already made family and friends aware of his upcoming decision. According to The Denver Post, Manning made the Broncos aware of his decision on Saturday night.Â
When you look at everything Peyton has accomplished as a player and person, it’s easy to see how fortunate we’ve been to have him on our team,” Broncos general manager John Elway said on the team’s website. “Peyton was everything that we thought he was and even more — not only for the football team, but in the community. I’m very thankful Peyton chose to play for the Denver Broncos, and I congratulate him on his Hall of Fame career.”
