Just one day before the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos are set to face-off in #SuperBowl50, someone is out of thousands of dollars worth of tickets to the big showdown.
Â
According to KTVU, over $40,000 worth of  Super Bowl tickets were stolen from a downtown San Francisco hotel.Â
Though the perpetrators have not yet been identified, police reportedly said that four men came into the hotel’s showroom and stole the tickets. It has not yet been specified who the exact owner of the tickets was.Â
Prior to selling out, tickets for the event were originally being sold at a face value of $500-$1800 for general admission; while club seat prices reached up to $3000. Tickets are now being resold at a record breaking average of $48,000. One California patron reportedly paid $24,000 each for four tickets. And another person in Phoenix says they paid over $27,000 each for two tickets.Â
Resell prices for tickets have no cap, and are apparently steadily rising as the big game approaches.Â
