University of Oregon junior, Marcus Mariota, has become Oregon’s first Heisman winner. He’s also the first Hawaiian native to win the award. “I’m humbled to be standing here today,” Mariota said in his speech.
Mariota received the second-highest percentage of possible points (90.92) in Heisman history, behind only Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith, who had 91.63 in 2006.
On January 1, Mariota and the Ducks face 2013 Heisman winner Jameis Winston and Florida State in the Rose Bowl semifinal. I guess you can say it’s the battle of the Heisman.
Congrats to Marcus on the trophy.
