Just as Clippers’ Blake Griffin was set to make his return to the basketball court, it was reported that the star forward suffered yet another injury that is going to keep him sidelined even longer. The team is currently on a 5-game road trip and Griffin was expected to make his comeback sometime this week. However, last night, after being involved in an altercation, Griffin unexpectedly left the team and went back home to L.A.
According to ESPN, Griffin got into a fight with a member of the Clippers’ equipment staff while the team was in Toronto. The altercation started while they were out at a restaurant and quickly escalated, leading to Griffin hitting the staff member multiple times and fracturing his right hand in the process. Both Griffin and the staff member were sent home by the team. As of now, there are no details on whether or not Griffin will be penalized for his actions.
Griffin has already missed a substantial amount of playing time over the past month due to a quad injury. Now, sources are saying the fracture to his hand could cost him another few weeks of playing time.
