While many NFL greats retire from the game of football and go on to become coaches or analysts, some former players choose to go down a completely different road. Former Titans running back Eddie George has found the best of both worlds. Though he currently works as a studio analyst as well as a color commentator for the Titans, he’s also decided to pursue another passion of his that couldn’t take him further from the football field. Since hanging up his cleats over ten years ago, George has taken on a lot of ventures, including a second career in performing arts. And much like his career in football, he’s seen a great amount of success.

Earlier this month, George began his first stint on Broadway, playing Billy Flynn, a cynical and conniving defense lawyer, in the classic musical Chicago. The show is now open at New York City’s Ambassador Theatre and will run until the end of February. George won the role of the leading man and is following in the footsteps of stars like Usher and Wayne Brady, who played the role in previous years. So far, it seems like the critics are loving him.

This is not George’s first acting gig though. Since retiring from the NFL in 2005, he has made appearances in numerous TV shows and movies. He also performed at Nashville’s Shakespeare Festival and at the Nashville Repertory Theatre in recent years.

“I am enjoying this entire experience. It is not every day you get a chance to play on Broadway, and that goes for people who have been acting for years,” George told TitansOnline.com. “I am blessed to be in this situation, and it is such a thrill every time I have an opportunity to go on the stage and do this. It’s been awesome.”
