While Nick Cannon recently said in an interview that he probably wouldn’t get married again following his divorce from Mariah Carey, it appears his ex-wife feels the exact opposite. In fact, just a year after the couple filed for divorce, it looks like Mariah’s ready to walk down the aisle again.
E! News reports that the singer is now engaged to James Packer, an Australian billionaire businessman that she’s been dating for a little under a year. The two first met back in 2014 and started out as friends. But soon after Mariah’s separation from Nick, things got serious between her and James.
“As soon as their friendship turned romantic, they have wanted to spend every moment together,” a source told E! News. “They have a connection that is unparalleled; it’s been a very beautiful experience for them both. If you spend even five minutes with them, you can’t help but believe in true love.”
James popped the big question to Mariah on Thursday night in NYC with a beautiful 35 carat ring. The couple shared the special moment with close family and friends.
