Last week Drake debuted, “Two Birds One Stone,” a diss track aimed towards Kid Cudi and Pusha T, which is said to appear on Drake’s forthcoming More Life project. The track premiered on Apple Music, however a listing on Tidal says that Kanye may have been involved in the song.
According to the Song Info under Tidal’s listing of “Two Birds, One Stone,” Kanye West is not only credited for producing “Two Birds One Stone” alongside Noah “40” Shebib, he’s also listed as one of the song’s 5 composers and one of the song’s 5 lyricists. In a nutshell, Kanye is listed as co-producer and co-writer of the track.
Here is where things get tricky. It is well known that Drake took shots at both Pusha T and Kid Cudi in the song. Kid Cudi is a long time friend and collaborator of Kanye West, even contributing to Kanye’s “Father Stretch My Hands” track. Kanye signed Kid Cudi to G.O.O.D Music in 2008. Pusha T is also a long time collaborator of Kanye West and is G.O.O.D Music’s president.
So, the question is, did Kanye West know the shots would be taken prior to helping out on the song? How much of a contribution to the track did Kanye have? Are Kanye’s credits on the song a glitch in Tidal’s system?
Drake’s “Two Birds, One Stone” is not listed on Apple Music like the other two singles he released last week. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to compare the credits across different platforms.
