2016 has been the year of women paying men spousal support in their divorce. Continuing on the role reversal is WNBA star Candace Parker and her husband Shelden Williams.
Candace and Shelden got married in 2008 and share a 7 year old daughter named Lailaa. The couple have been living apart since they separated back in August. Williams, who played six seasons in the NBA, filed for a divorce citing irreconcilable differences. He is seeking joint custody of the couple’s daughter, as well as spousal support.
Candace Parker, who plays for the Los Angeles Sparks, raked in $12 million (including endorsements) last year and her husband believes he’s entitled to a cut. Williams is also asking for Candace to pay his attorney’s fees.
