Kanye West Surprises American Idol Judges With “Gold Digger” Performance (VIDEO)

Do you ever wonder what it would be like if Kanye West auditioned for American Idol? Would it have made it to Hollywood?  A few months back, behind the scenes footage of Kanye West surprising Jennifer Lopez and the Idol crew by showing up for auditions. He performed “Gold Digger” and it warmed our hearts. 

Now we get to see the entire audition (and in better quality.) 

Kanye appeared in front of the judge, just a nervous former producer with a lot to prove. “My name is Kanye, and I’m from the South Side of Chicago,” the rapper said. “I always wanted to rap, but nobody really believes in me, so I wanted to try some things out.”

Kim Kardashian, the American Idol hopeful’s wife, showed support as she told Ryan Seacrest that she’s always believed that her husband had what it takes.
