A civilian employee of the New York City Department of Correction was arrested in an undercover prostitution sting in Brooklyn, according to reports from the Associated Press and other outlets.
Geliesha, 26, worked for the department and was assigned to the Federal Narcotics Task Force. Police say she agreed to a sex act for $120 with a man at a hotel in Sunset Park who turned out to be an undercover officer, and officers then took her into custody.
She was arraigned the next day in Brooklyn Criminal Court and released without bail. The charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in court.
Correction Department spokesman Peter Thorne said the department has zero tolerance for illegal behavior by staff, and that the employee was suspended immediately and is being terminated.
