Andrew C. Sustaita Jr., a six year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, was arrested earlier this week and charged with obscenity, a state jail felony, according to ABC 13.
Authorities say he allegedly posted an obscene video involving an animal online. Investigators with the sheriff’s high tech crime unit were tipped off about obscene material coming from an account in Harris County, and the investigation led to Sustaita. He was relieved of his duties after the arrest, and the sheriff’s office said he could face additional charges as the investigation continues.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said it is especially troubling when an employee of the office is involved in this kind of case, and that the office will hold its employees accountable.
Sustaita was released from jail on a $5,000 bond and is due back in court on January 17. The charge is an allegation and has not been proven in court.
