New York Jets’ Darrelle Revis has been slapped with a slew of charges, including two felony counts of aggravated assault, one felony count each of robbery and conspiracy, and a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats, following an altercation in Pittsburgh.

Authorities believe the NFL star got into a violent assault with two men on February 12 and they’ve reportedly got cell phone footage to back their claims. The incident occurred at around 2:43 AM when a man was recording videos of Revis on his cell phones and Revis didn’t take kindly to it. Reportedly, Revis snatched the man’s cell phone and attempted to delete the video before throwing the phone into the street. That is when the man and his friend got into it with the Jets cornerback and an argument ensued. Things escalated and eventually ended up with the two men getting knocked out.

After the cops arrived, they were able to positively identify Revis from cell phone footage.  He has since been charged with four felonies and a misdemeanor.

Revis’ attorney, Blaine Jones, says his client was the actual victim. According to Jones, Revis, who was in town visiting family and friends,  was “physically assaulted while at the location by a group of at least five people.” Jones says one man shoved Revis and yelled at him while attempting to walk away. At that point, Revis knocked his cell phone out of his hands.

“It’s my understanding that when Darrelle turned around he wasn’t sure whether it was a weapon or a phone,” Jones told reporters. “He didn’t know. He just knows he left, these guys were saying his name, he turns around and sees an object and he wasn’t sure what it was or whether he was going to get robbed or assaulted or what.

“He feared for his safety.”
