A Colorado woman was arrested for trespassing at the New York Mets spring training complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida, after telling police she was in a relationship with Tim Tebow, according to reports from the Associated Press and CBS.
Reports say Mets staff contacted police on February 26 about a woman, 36 year old Michelle, who had been at First Data Field for hours asking about Tebow. According to the police report as described by news outlets, Michelle told an officer she and Tebow were in a relationship. When the officer asked what kind of relationship, she reportedly laughed and answered “all of the above.”
Police say Michelle was given a trespass warning and asked to leave. She returned about two days later, on February 28, while Tebow and the team were away, and was arrested on a trespassing charge. Her bail was set at $750. Jail records did not list an attorney, and no response from Michelle was reported beyond what she told the officer.
Tebow, who was in camp with the Mets organization, told reporters he would be praying for her, according to the New York Post. The charge is an allegation, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
