As you’re probably heard, Sean Penn is suing Lee Daniels for $10 million; not because he believes the Empire storyline is about him, but because Daniels made false accusations about Penn abusing women while trying to defend Terrence Howard.
You may recall that Terrence Howard has been accused of assaulting his now ex-wife, and because of it, he’s been getting a lot of backlash. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lee Daniels tried to defend him saying, “That poor boy. [Terrence] ain’t done nothing different than Marlon Brando or Sean Penn, and all of a sudden he’s some f—ing demon. That’s a sign of the time, of race, of where we are right now in America.” Penn took issue with the comparison because he said the claims of his abuse are untrue.
Penn’s ex-wife and superstar entertainer, Madonna, has come to Penn’s defense saying the actor has never laid a hand on her. “While we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean has never struck me, ‘tied me up,’ or physically assaulted me, and any report to the contrary is completely outrageous, malicious, reckless and false,” she says in her affidavit.
Madonna took it a step further by addressing Instagram as well. In a recent post she says, “A lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right, and evil doesn’t become good just because it’s accepted by the majority.”
Sean Penn and Madonna were married from 1985 to 1989. In June 1987 there were claims that Madonna was hospitalized after Penn beat her with a baseball bat. Madonna and Penn have both, obviously, denied these claims.
