There is a development in the case of the shooting deaths of Toya Wright’s brothers, Joshua and Ryan “Rudy” Johnson. According to reports, New Orleans police arrested a 31 year old man named Antoine on March 9 in connection with the killings, which happened last July.
Reports say he was charged with two counts of second degree murder and that his bond was set at $500,000. He is due back in court on May 7. The charges are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. No statement from him or an attorney had been reported at the time.
According to a sworn affidavit from the New Orleans Police Department, as reported by news outlets, multiple tipsters told investigators that a man matching his description was responsible for the shooting and had admitted involvement on at least one occasion. The affidavit also says several witnesses picked his photo out of a lineup, and the warrant states he was in the area at the time of the shooting.
Ryan and Joshua were shot while sitting in a car in New Orleans last summer. This arrest is the first one reported in the case.
