Variety reports that Amazon Studios has acquired U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to “Annette,” a music-filled drama directed by Leos Carax, which stars Adam Driver and Rihanna.
The film is just another addition to Fenty’s acting resume, which began with 2006’s “Bring It On: All or Nothing.” Since then, the singer has featured in 2012’s “Battleship,” 2015’s “Home,” and upcoming films “Valerian,” and “Ocean’s Eight,” set to be released in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
The script was written by and features original music from art-rock duo Sparks, which focuses on the story of a widowed standup comedian and his young daughter, who possesses a surprising gift.
Shooting is set to begin this spring across several international locations. Rooney Mara was previously attached, but bowed out due to other commitments. It is unclear at this time how large Rihanna’s role will be.
That Rihanna reign just won’t let up.
