Does Rick Ross have problems with Nicki Minaj? According to the rapper, he’s known from the beginning that she and Meek Mill would not be a good fit. He also knew that Meek dating Nicki would drive a wedge between Meek and Drake.
In Rick Ross’ new track, “Apple of My Eye,” off his newly released “Rather You Than Me” album, the MMG frontman says “I told Meek I wouldn’t trust Nicki/Instead of beefing with your dog you just give him some distance/We all make mistakes, let’s not be too specific.”
From the line, it appears that Ross was referencing Nicki Minaj and her possible involvement in the beef between Meek Mill and Drake. It seems Ross is saying that rather than jumping on social media to go at Drake, Meek should have simply distanced himself. It’s unclear whether he’s saying Drake made a mistake or if it was a mistake for Meek to burn his bridges.
On March 9, Meek Mill hinted at the single by posting a photo alongside Ross with the caption “Rozay been told me don’t trust you” with the album’s release date “3.17.17.”
Nicki and Ross have worked together in the past. I wonder what changed.
