Jets Replace Darrelle Revis With Former Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Morris Claiborne

Back in 2007, Darrelle Revis was drafted in the first round, 14th overall, by the New York Jets. For three seasons, the cornerback out of University of Pittsburgh played in the Big Apple before heading to Tampa Bay. Two seasons later, the baller found himself back in New York where it all started. Unfortunately, an altercation in Pittsburgh left him facing four felonies and a misdemeanor, and he was released and subsequently replaced. However, the team’s coach maintains that Revis’ release had nothing to do with his recently dismissed case and charges. Whatever the case may be, Revis is now looking for a new city to settle down in to play the game he is most passion about. On the other hand, the Jets have just revealed Revis’ replacement.

According to NFL.com, the Jets will be signing former Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne. Ian Rapoport reported that Claiborne will be taking his talents to the Big Apple on a one-year deal, worth over $5 million.  In the meantime, with both Claiborne and Brandon Carr out of the picture, Dallas will be looking to fill those voids in next month’s cornerback-laden draft.

As for Claiborne’s production with his new team, it’s hard to tell what will happen in the future. But, according to reports, the baller was ranked at the top half of the Top 101 free agents in Around The NFL’s list.

What are your thoughts?
