Rick Ross sat down with CNN at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, to discuss his new album and the recent events surrounding the celebrity-in-chief, Donald Trump.
“The title, ‘Rather You Than Me,’ that’s just the perspective of a young black dude coming up in an urban community,” he said of his new album. “As soon as the music come on, just let the music talk to you. You know i’ve always been open and I speak my mind on whatever the topic may be.”
Whike at SXSW, Ross also shared his videa on Donald Trump. The rapper has expressed his thoughts about Trump before. Back in 2015, in his song “Free Enterprise,” he rapped about killing Trump. This time, Ross provided his opinion on Donald Trump’s recent attack on Snoop Dogg over the rapper’s recently released video, “Lavender,” and he was happy to express his support of the West Coast rapper.
“It’s good to see the big homie speak his mind and have fun doing it, and knowing that America supports him,” he said on Thursday just before the Woodie Awards, which honors music chosen by college students, CNN reports.
