Stephen Belafonte Granted Monitored Visitation with Daughter, Denied Visitation of Eddie Murphy’s Daughter

Visitation

The divorce drama between Mel B and Stephen Belafonte has been a mess, to say the least. The two have been in a nonstop, back-and-forth battle of he say, she say and legal allegations. However, amid recent filings concerning the welfare of the couple’s 5-year-old daughter, Madison, a judge made a tentative decision to allow Belafonte to see his daughter for two four-hour supervised visits per week.

“We are very grateful. We are happy,” Belafonte’s attorney told E! News. “We hope this is the first in a long line of getting back more visitation.”

If you recall, both Belafonte and Mel B filed for joint custody of Madison. But, once the singer brought forth allegations against Belafonte in a restraining order, citing years of emotional and physical abuse, she asked for sole custody. In turn, Belafonte maintained his petition for joint custody, adding a request for visitation rights for his step-daughter, Angel.

In regards to Eddie Murphy’s 10-year-old daughter, Angel, a judge said he will consider the request, which means at this point, it has been denied. The judge explained that the courtroom does not “have the jurisdiction to grant visitation with the punitive step-child,” which means Belafonte is not allowed to contact Angel.
