Derek Fisher was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, and now there is a twist. According to reports, the 2015 Cadillac Escalade he was driving is registered to Matt Barnes of the Golden State Warriors, the former husband of Fisher’s girlfriend, Gloria Govan.
Authorities say the SUV hit a guard rail and flipped, and the vehicle was left badly damaged. Govan was in the car with Fisher. Reports say Barnes originally gave Govan the vehicle so she could drive the former couple’s twin sons around, and the boys were not in the car at the time of the crash.
Fisher has not been convicted of anything, and a DUI arrest is not a finding of guilt. We did not see a public response from Barnes at the time of this report. We will keep you posted if either man speaks out.
