A U.K. man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for sexually abusing his wife on camera while she was asleep.
On March 14th, the man reportedly forgot his cell phone at home when he left for work, providing his wife the opportunity to look through it. As she snooped, she noticed a suspicious app called “Video Locker.”
At first, she was unable to gain access, but after further manipulation, she managed to get in and discovered several videos of her husband performing degrading sexual acts on her, as she slept in their bed. In one of the videos, the man ejaculated onto the victim’s face wiping it off before she woke up.
Upon finding the footage, the woman contacted her husband and said, “I’ve just watched videos of you raping me on your phone,” prompting the man to immediately turn himself in. When he arrived at the station, he confessed saying, “I have had sex with my wife. She didn’t consent. She found out and saw videos on my phone.”
As a result, the man, who is in his 30s, pleaded guilty to three counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, one of attempted rape and sexual assault. He was then sentenced to nine years and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
“You abused the trust that your wife placed in you,” the judge said. “Between September 2016 and March this year, you raped and sexual abused her while she was incapable of giving consent to your actions.
“I take the view you took advantage of the fact that she was in drunk and a heavy sleeper. You did so for your own sexual gratification and treated her as an object for your fantasies, disregarding her wishes or needs.”
The couple had been together for more than 10 years prior to the abuse.
