As expected, when I moved from Ohio to Atlanta, there were a lot of things I wasn’t used to seeing: men that are more fabulous than me, luxury hoopties, and significantly older men (sugar daddies) with younger women. Of course I had heard about sugar daddies prior to moving, and even knew a few, however I had never seen a sugar daddy phenomenon like in a big city; they are literally everywhere. Now, if you don’t know what a sugar daddy is, it’s a man, typically older, who financially supports a younger female. The details of the relationship vary for each arrangement, but it could include vacations, cars, tuition, rent etc., so it shouldn’t surprise you that there are PLENTY of females who want the sugar daddy lifestyle. But how? It’d be convenient if there were a build-a-sugar daddy store, where you can pick the perfect old man to give you that lifestyle, but its just not realistic. So where do you find them?
Websites
There is a plethora of websites that are specifically for finding sugar daddies. A quick google search, and you’ll find a bunch of different options. This is the best option if you want to take out all of the guess work and jump straight to business.
Business Networking Events
In order for a man to take care of you, he obviously has to have a job. What better way to find professionals with a job, than in one room: a professional networking event? A quick search on EventBrite will tell you about networking events in your area, and give you a list of the companies that will be represented there (Delta, Ernst and Young, Proctor and Gamble etc). Pay attention to the companies that will be there, so you can get a good idea of the caliber of men.
Casinos
Casino’s are a great place, because its literally nothing but people spending money. Avoid the men who look stressed out because they just gambled away the last of their life savings. Instead look for the confident, unbothered man, who is pacing himself, hanging out at the bar and not just the black jack tables. By being at the Casino, its obvious he has money, but by not splurging it’s obvious he’s cares about preserving his money too.
Weddings
Weddings are great places to spark conversation with who ever, and not be weird doing it. People are also more likely to be friendly and divulge more personal information at a wedding, opposed to meeting them at a random place like Starbucks. Look for the single older man, who looks like he has money, and spark conversation with him; you should be able to tell in a short amount of time if he’s sugar daddy material or not.
Country Clubs
Country club memberships can start at $500 a month; if a man has that much money to throw around on golf and socializing every month, he surely has financial room to take care of you in some capacity. Go to a country club party, or event, and see if you can snag someone’s attention.
Hotel Bars
Who do you think is more likely to splurge on you, the man who stays at the Holiday Inn Express every vacation, or the man who’s staying at the Ritz Carlton on business? The answer is obvious. And don’t worry, you won’t have to drop $400 a night on a room, to be around the upper echelon. You can easily go have a drink at the bar, or dinner at the hotel restaurant. Pick a five star close to you and see what you come up with.
Art Galleries
Expensive men, have expensive taste, and one way to show off that expensive taste, is beautiful artwork inside of their beautiful home. Head to the next art showing in your area, or art gallery, and see if there are any older men looking to add an art piece to their collection. Chances are if they have enough money to buy an original piece of art work, they can afford to add you to their collection too.
Do you see the trend here people? If you want an older man with money, you need to go places where older men are spending money. It may take a few tries to find someone who is willing to take care of you, however these are places that will make it more likely. I’ll write about how to approach a sugar daddy in a later post, but for now let’s start with how to spot them, baby steps.
