Amar’e Stoudemire is facing a lawsuit from a woman who says he is the father of her daughter.
According to the Daily Mail, Quynn, 36, is asking a court for permanent child support and full custody of her one year old daughter, after a judge officially determines paternity. The Daily Mail reports that Stoudemire acknowledged he is aware of the child and that he may be the father. He reportedly called the lawsuit “frivolous” and said he has been paying Quynn $4,333 a month, along with $22,500 in legal fees.
Quynn describes herself as a stay at home mother. In her lawsuit, she claims Stoudemire has not been involved in the child’s life and has not paid any of her roughly $11,000 in maternity bills.
Stoudemire’s side of the story is that he set up regular child support payments on November 1, 2016, after Quynn sued him in Massachusetts. That case was dismissed four months later, and Quynn then filed a new suit in Florida a month after that, according to the report.
The claims in the lawsuit are allegations and have not been decided by a court.
