#ChrisRock and his estranged wife #MalaakComptonRock are reportedly battling it out over whether he should pay child support for a little girl who, Malaak told PEOPLE, was raised as their own.
In the comedian’s divorce filing last December, he stated that the couple only have two children. But this past April, Malaak, 46, filed a counterclaim saying that they have three kids, including a 7-year-old daughter named Ntombi, “who has been raised by the parties as a member of the family and has been solely supported by the parties. “
A private investigator told TMZ that Ntombi’s biological father, Crispen Khanyile, says the Rock family never adopted his daughter and refused to confirm if any money changed hands.
According to the PI, Crispen and Ntombi’s mother, Precious Ndebele, already had two children and were both unemployed in 2008, when their daughter was born and the year she went to live with the Rock family. They also had two children.
The PI told TMZ that when he interviewed Precious last year, her “conditions were not conducive for human living.” At the time, she allegedly told the investigator that she was living in a slum and selling secondhand clothes on the streets.
The PI also says that when he spoke to Crispen last year, he had told him that Ntombi was living in the U.S. with adoptive parents. But TMZ says when they spoke to Crispen on Wednesday (Nov. 25), he was clear that there was no adoption.
Ntombi has reportedly been living in the United States with the Rock Family on a visitor’s visa which requires her to go back to #SouthAfrica once a year.
According to TMZ, Chris Rock, 50, has not seen the little girl since the split and believes that Malaak cut corners to bring Ntombi to America.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Malaak’s lawyer David Aronson said, “While the adoption by Malaak is not yet finalized, it is actively in process under the rigorous guidelines and safeguards of international adoption policy. The child is in the country lawfully with the written consent of her birth parents, and while here, has been cherished and adored by the entire Rock family. “
Chris filed for divorce from Malaak in December 2014 after 19 years of marriage. The couple wed on November 23, 1996.
