Donald Trump has stuck his foot in his mouth once again when it comes to his take on minorities. If his hatred for immigrants wasn’t enough, he’s now taken on African Americans.
This week the presidential hopeful retweeted a meme with what appeared to break down African American involved deaths, including the percentage of blacks killed by police and blacks killed by other blacks. The problem with these statistics is that they were completely fake and so off base. You would think someone running for president would do his Googles.
The image above is what Trump tweeted. Here’s the truth. It’s fake. It says the source is the “Crime Statistics Bureau” which doesn’t exist. The US Crime Statistics for 2015 are also not available as of yet. There is also no break down regarding the percentage of blacks or whites killed by police as of now. Here are the REAL statistics from 2014 (since 2015 isn’t even over yet):
– Blacks Killed By Whites: 7.6%
– Whites Killed By Whites: 82.3%
– Whites Killed By Blacks: 14.7%
– Blacks Killed By Blacks: 89.9%
It’s also noted that the meme originated from a neo-nazi Twitter page.
A huge difference in comparison to the tweet that Trump sent out to his 5 million Twitter followers. When asked by Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly why he didn’t fact check, Trump answered. “Bill, am I gonna check every statistic? I get millions and millions of people, @RealDonaldTrump, by the way. All it was was a retweet.”
