As the legal battle between Mel B and her estranged husband, Stephen Belafonte, continues, an additional party has stepped in the line of fire against the singer.
The divorce war between the former couple has led to a slew of “he say, she say” claims, regarding physical, mental, and emotional abuse, infidelities and sadistic sex manipulation. In addition, the two have been in a longstanding battle over the custody of their daughter, Madison, as well as Eddie Murphy’s daughter, Angel. Now, things have taken a turn for the worse for the singer, as a felony investigation has been opened against her. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to TMZ, “Sisterhood of Hip Hop” rapper, Siya, filed a police report on Monday, claiming Mel B sent her text messages, demanding that she refuse to testify against her, or else. Sources say, Siya took the messages to the police, which forced officials to open a felony witness intimidation case against Mel.
Apparently, Siya was ready to testify under oath that Belafonte never physically abused his wife. She planned to stand before a judge to reveal Mel B frequently used illegal drugs and called the shots in the couple’s alleged threesomes with their nanny, Lorraine Gilles. Although, Siya says she has been a close friend to both Mel B and Belafonte, sources close to Mel B say she only met the rapper a few times.
In addition, Mel B’s camp says Siya’s allegations of witness intimidation are bogus.
