Just one day after Cam Newton laughed at the idea of a “female” talking about ‘routes, Dannon’s Oikos yogurt brand reportedly cut ties with the Panthers quarterback.

Newton’s comment received mixed reviews, while many were disgusted at the quarterback’s apparent sexism, others believed Newton’s statement was justified. However, the Yogurt-maker was not pleased with their spokesperson’s words, which prompted it to severe business ties with the athlete.

“We are shocked and disheartened at the behavior and comments of Cam Newton toward Jourdan Rodrigue, which we perceive as sexist and disparaging to all women,” the senior director of external communications for the company told USA Today. “It is entirely inconsistent with our commitment to fostering equality and inclusion in every workplace. It’s simply not OK to belittle anyone based on gender. We have shared our concerns with Cam and will no longer work with him.”
