Former NHL goalie Ray Emery has been arrested over allegations involving his ex fiancee, singer and former 106 & Park host Keshia Chante, according to TMZ.
TMZ reports that Emery was taken into custody on September 18 in Hamilton, Ontario, on charges of assault with a weapon and uttering a threat. The charges stem from an alleged incident in 2016. Chante first sought a restraining order, claiming Emery abused her several times between July and September of that year. TMZ’s sources say police found enough evidence to move forward with an arrest.
Emery was released on bail and is due back in court later this month. TMZ says it made several attempts to reach him and no statement from Emery or a lawyer was included in its report. The allegations have not been proven in court.
The two reportedly dated for seven years and were engaged until Chante announced this summer that the wedding was off. Emery played 11 seasons in the NHL and won a Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.
