According to TMZ, rapper Nelly has been arrested for rape.
Sources say, a woman told officials that the incident occurred on the rapper’s tour bus in Washington, around 3:45 a.m. Apparently, she told officials specifically that the rapper was the perpetrator.
According to TMZ, Nelly is currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line, scheduled to perform Saturday night in Ridgefield. However, as of this morning the rapper was still in custody, after being booked on second-degree rape charges around 7 a.m.
UPDATE 1:25 p.m.: Nelly’s lawyer has since released a statement to TMZ, saying, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”
