Special Enforcement detectives in Newark arrested six people in a prostitution sting, according to RLS Media.
Officials told RLS Media the operation began after they responded to quality of life complaints in several areas of the city.
The six arrests happened on Sunday. Four of those arrested, Remones, 29, Dorell, 19, DeShawn, 26, and Zyquan, 20, were also wanted on outstanding warrants and were charged with contempt of court. All six, including Yusef, 26, and Derrick, 25, were charged with prostitution and soliciting prostitution.
Officials credited residents for helping, saying their partnership with citizens is “one of our greatest assets” and that police will keep answering neighborhood complaints.
Charges are allegations, and an arrest is not a conviction.
