Special Enforcement detectives in Newark have arrested six people in connection to a prostitution sting in the city. ⠀⠀
According to RLS Media, officials say they responded to a quality of life complaint in several areas of the city, which prompted officials to launch a sting operation.
Of the six arrested on Sunday, Remones McDaniel, 29, Dorell Korngay, 19, DeShawn Washington, 26, and Zyquan Twitty, 20, were wanted on outstanding warrants and charged with Contempt of Court. However, all, including Yusef Hudson, 26 and Derrick Benson, 25, were charged with prostitution and soliciting prostitution.
“These arrests are due to the public’s involvement in alerting us to criminal activity occurring in their neighborhoods,” officials said. “Our partnership with our citizens is one of our greatest assets. We will continue to respond to and answer citizens complaints while enforcing the law.”
