Although Nelly’s rape accuser has backed out and refused to testify, TMZ reports that the case is still open for police to investigate.
According to the publication, Auburn police have not backed down in the wake of the alleged accuser’s refusal to cooperate. In fact, officials say they are still collecting evidence, with plans to present the case to prosecutors by next week.
While Nelly’s attorney believes the case will be closed, as he expects the police to continue to “do their due diligence,” the decision of whether or not to charge the rapper will ultimately be up to prosecutors.
