On Tuesday, Wendy Williams passed out on live TV after overheating in her Halloween costume. The talk show host was dressed in a bright green sparkly dress, with a laid green-ish wig, topped with the Statue of Liberty crown.

Forty-eight minutes into the show, Williams began to stutter and stumble, just before collapsing to the ground. Video of the incident quickly spread on the Internet, with many questioning the authenticity of the situation. However, shortly after the incident, Williams confirmed that the incident was real and she had just fainted from overheating in her costume.

The next day, Williams addressed the situation, clarifying rumors that the she pulled a stunt. “A lot of people thought it was a joke. No, it was not a joke,” Williams said on Wednesday. “I’m a tall woman and it’s a long way down. I’m a woman of a particular age. I don’t do stunts like that. I don’t need that.”

“It was scary, all I could think of was don’t pull the podium on top of you,” she said, as she got emotional. “I’m a 53-year-old middle-aged woman going through what middle-aged women go through, if you know what I mean. The costume got hot. All [of a] sudden right before passing out, I felt like I was in the middle of a campfire.”

“For the people who thought that I was [stroking out] trying to get this chair next: Nope, I’m here for a long time!” she told her audience.
