Online body shamers and trolls have led Mariah Carey to undergo weight-loss surgery. According to Page Six, the singer summoned the top surgeon in Beverly Hills to perform her gastric sleeve surgery last month after putting on a few pounds.
“Mariah has always been proud of her curves, but this summer, as her Caesars Palace residency came to a close, and then she went on tour with Lionel Richie, she noticed it became harder to dance, and she was getting a lot more criticism online from body shamers,” a source told the publication of Carey.
According to Page Six, the 47-year-old underwent the procedure, where the doctor removes part of the stomach so that the patient gets full faster. Which helps since the singer had been gaining happy weight from all the dinners and drinks with her boyfriend, Bryan Tanaka. But now, according to the source, Carey “feels a lot better” and is “already seeing some good results.”
