Last year, at the height of the presidential election, Donald Trump Jr. responded to a direct message from the WikiLeaks Twitter account.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The message mentioned the launch of an anti-Trump site with a link to the person who was allegedly behind it. The messages, which continued until July 2017 though largely one-sided, were obtained by The Atlantic and also turned over to congressional investigators.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Off the record, I don’t know who that is, but I’ll ask around,” he wrote 12 hours later in response to the direct message. “Thanks,” he said.

Last year, the U.S. Intelligence agency concluded that the Russians hacked Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman then provided the information to WikiLeaks, who then contacted Donald Trump’s son for help to disseminate the info.

“Over the last several months, we have worked cooperatively with each of the committees and have voluntarily turned over thousands of documents in response to their requests,” an attorney for Donald Trump Jr. said of the documents. “Putting aside the question as to why or by whom such documents, provided to Congress under promises of confidentiality, have been selectively leaked, we can say with confidence that we have no concerns about these documents and any questions raised about them have been easily answered in the appropriate forum.”

Since the release of the report, Trump Jr. took to Twitter to release the full private message exchange with WikiLeaks. The release showed an additional response from the son of the Celebrity-in-Chief.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Hiya, it’d be great if you guys could comment on/push this story,” the Twitter account wrote on Oct 3rd with a link to a quote from Clinton, suggesting an attack on WikiLeaks founder.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Already did that earlier today,” Trump Jr. responded. “It’s amazing what she can get away with,” he said before asking about a “Wednesday leak.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to reports, the conversation came days before the intelligence agencies revealed that they believed the Russians were behind the hack and before WikiLeaks began releasing the chairman’s emails.
