Judge On Meek Mill’s Case Is Reportedly Being Investigated by FBI

The FBI has reportedly launched an investigation into the Philadelphia judge, who sentenced Meek Mill to 2-4 years in prison for violating probation. Since the harsh sentencing, the rapper’s attorney Joe Tacopina has accused Judge Genece Brinkley of “enormous bias,” citing several instances where Brinkley reportedly requested personal favors from the rapper.

Tacopina said Brinkley has asked for a personal shout-out in a song and encouraged the rapper to change management from Roc Nation to Philly’s Charlie Mack. When he declined, the judge reportedly said, “suit yourself.” In the most recent case, Tacopina said Brinkley handed down the heavy sentence even after Meek’s probation office requested no jail time.

As a result, it’s been reported that the FBI has launched a probe into the judge’s Philly connections. A source told Page Six that “the feds have an interest in the judge and [her] potential relationships. This an investigation looking into a possible extortionate demand. Undercover agents have been in the courtroom monitoring the Meek proceedings since April 2016.”

At that time, according to the publication, Charlie Mack, the Philly music exec, told the rapper that he knew the judge and could presumably help him with his case. Since then, Mack has maintained that he does not know Brinkley.

However, the existence of an investigation has yet to be confirmed or denied by the FBI itself. In addition, Tacopina said he could not comment on the possibility of a probe either.
